Last week we went on one of our "camp" field trips. We drove all the way to Fort Mason and went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum. OMG. It was amazing and totally worth the long drive. The weather started foggy, but eventually broke and was a cool 65 degrees. The layout is a bunch of barracks. Inside each barrack is a room of discovery. There was the tot room where one area had real goldfish swimming in the ceiling, the Curious Georgia room full of farm toys, the playdough/paint room which had the most incredible pumice stone and wax playdough, the outdoor gravel pit complete with digger trucks/shovels/ hard hats, the boat, the mock Golden Gate Bridge, a tidepool that kept Miles laughing for the longest time, hula hoops, foam building blocks, and a picnic area with the GG bridge as your backdrop. We were there for 3 1/2 hours and both kids had a blast. I would definitely go there again!
