Poop and Scones

Haha.....not that one is related to the other in my title! On July 24th, 98 days into potty training, Miles FINALLY pooped in the potty. No small feat and one we praised a million times over. He immediately got M&M's and a promise to visit the dinosaurs at Lawrence Hall of Science. He since changed his mind (the dinos are too scary) and opted for the movies with Nana. They saw Winnie the Pooh, ate popcorn, went shoe shopping, and played at Nana's house. A nice solo outing for him. We've had a few successes and a few failures (or as my friend Jen calls them...setbacks) since then. So we're still in the big reward mode for all the poops. If it keeps me from cleaning poopy underpants then so be it!

The other day I took the kids to Broadway Plaza to return something at Nordstrom. We got there right at opening so it was totally quiet in Walnut Creek. We walked around, ate Starbucks scones, played by the fountain, did a little more shopping, and then headed home. There were zero meltdowns, zero whining, and zero deep breaths by me. It was very enjoyable and I look forward to our next scone outing!
