I bought tickets to the Polar Express back in November. These were incredibly coveted tickets that sold out on the first day. I was happy to get them! We drove up to Sacramento with Nana early afternoon on Sunday. Our tickets were for the dining car. Miles and Georgia had matching jammies and looked so sweet. On the train there were dancing waiters, hot chocolate and cookies, and the conductor signed our "Polar Express" book. Someone read a modified version of the book over the speakers while we rode the train to the North Pole. While they were reading, Miles broke out into "Jingle Bells". It was hysterical. The famous Hobo came walking through the train, too. When we got to the North Pole we saw Santa!! Miles was so excited. Then Santa came on board and handed everyone a bell. The whole ride back you could hear jingles from the bells and we sang carols with the train personnel. After the train ride we went to dinner. Miles chowed on French Fries, Georgia had rice cereal, we had burgers, and I had a beer! :) On the walk back to the car, we saw Santa again. Miles got to visit with him and told Santa he wanted Thomas. Santa knew all about Thomas and proceeded to name other trains, much to Miles' delight. Then came the famous quote. Santa said, "When I come to visit on Christmas Eve, will you leave me something?" To which Miles replied, "Yes. Money." We got a great laugh. And then Santa said cookies were fine. Good thing, Santa!! This is a new family tradition! Hopefully next time I remember my camera! Ugh! These were taken from Peter's phone!
The Conductor.
The conductor punched out a BE on our tickets.
Miles LOVED the hot chocolate.
Georgia got her hands on my cookie and quickly demolished it. Inside the bag of course.
The North Pole!!
Santa Claus and his elves!
Santa came on board.
Nana is silly with her earrings.
Miles is trying to be like Nana.
Good bye North Pole!
A well deserved dinner and great end to the night.
