Monterey Bay Aquarium Trip

Nana, the kids, and myself had an impromptu trip to Monterey. We booked a hotel 4 miles away from the aquarium and went down early on Wednesday morning. The kids were SO excited that we heard "are we there yet?" the entire drive down. The aquarium did NOT disappoint. I haven't been there in quite a few years and they have really expanded the facility. We spent close to 5 hours there on the first day and 3 the second day. Well worth cost! The place in beautiful, clean, and full of activities for kids. Such a fun trip!

It's not real, but sure looks like it!

Scuba divers cleaning and feeding fish.

Sitting under a glass area where waves crash. So much fun!

The touch pools were a big hit.

Georgia loved the sea otters. They are so cute!

We had lunch inside the aquarium at their only restaurant (vs the food court). Our view was amazing. Such a clear day and the kids got binoculars to look at seals and boats.

Georgia couldn't stop drinking her Sprite to pose for a picture.

Pictures only on the Princesses time!

That's nice......

Our lunch friends: 4 seals!

This whole area was kid friendly: lots of room to touch things, run, climb...really fun. So fun that neither child would stop and smile.

The sea horses were amazing.

This area was an entire jellyfish play area. The played 70's sounding music.

The best part about where we stayed? Free happy hour (God I love the Embassy Suites). Miles attempted to play pool while we had cocktails.

Back to the aquarium the next day! This was a feeding show. It was amazing! Did you know Mahi Mahi change color when they get excited?? And these were sardines going nuts. This was really cool to see.

Georgia making friends with the puffin (see it to the left?).

Seaweed? Nope.....sea horses!!

The giant octopus was truly magnificent. It swam right over to Georgia.

Last lunch on Cannery Row. We had live music and sat outside. It was another beautiful day!
